Strengthen Information Systems for Nutrition: The NIPN project

The National Information Platforms for Nutrition (NIPN), established by the European Union, seeks to enhance the coordination system of nutrition through structured implementation across different countries. This project is organized and managed by a team of experts who supervise and analyze the conditions and quality of its implementation in participating nations.

Since 2020, the NIPN has received support and management from the European Commission (EC), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), UNICEF, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). This initiative has been successfully implemented in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Kenya, Lao PDR, Niger, Uganda, and Zambia.

A tailored approach was conceptualized to address the unique needs of local contexts, fostering continuous collaboration among local, national, and international decision-makers and stakeholders. This dynamic process ensures that NIPN remains responsive and effective in improving nutrition outcomes.
